| Well, we will see how this arrangement works. Now that the property is in private hands I hope they will care for it. There is a huge piece of graffiti on the wall of the old King Soopers and it has been there for at least a week. I'd sure like to see some action. Also, now that the pizza place is gone can someone please take down that ugly, stupid Pudge Brother's Pizza sign? Talk about visual pollution! |

If you see graffitti, report it to the police as soon as you see it. If you sit around and wait for them to find it, you've just added to the time that it sits there.
Regarding the sign, who do you think should take it down? I looked at the city code that is now posted on-line, and there's nothing in there about ugly signs. What is does say is that the Code Enforcement Officer shall have the authority to order the removal of a sign which constitutes a hazard to safety, health or public welfare by reason of inadequate maintenance. |

According to something I received today through the Town Cryer it sounds like credit for small business might be beginning to flow again. Can the Ice Ranch be far behind?
Come on Luke! You can do it! |

from City Council meeting minutes:
Councilwoman Keegan noted that a recent CML publication had an article with regard to grant funding available to remove graffiti and said that she thought it might be something that should be pursued.
I sure hope she does look into funding for graffitti removal, it's getting really bad in my alley. |

| I believe that at that meeting, Chief Keough said that he was on top of that grant already. |

| I'm so sick of looking at that piece of junk building and crumbling lot at 20th and Depew. I know the economy is slow but thats not Edgewaters fault. If the ice ranch folks can't do what they say then let them default and take the property back. I bet the new city manager could find developers who could make something out of it. It's been many many years and i have not seen squat except a bunch of tax payer dollars flushed. Do something now or we homeowners may need to seek legal action. |

| The thing is financing is tight for ALL developers, not just the Ice Ranch folks. This city has been through quite a public process finding the kind of development tha will enhance our quality of life here and give us more recreational activity. If the Ice Ranch can't get financing (and I think they will) we would have to go through the whole process again. Tossing 20th and Depew to just any old developer is NOT going to happen. I agree though, that our City Manager will be of great assistance to shepherd this plan through. |

No point in compaining about the Ice Ranch anymore than complaining about the empty buildings at the Marketplace. There are signed contracts, and council saw fit to extend the Ice Ranch contract for a year to allow the economy to recover so they can get their financing in order.
It seems to me that this is a very simple concept to understand.
There is nothing that the city can do about it at this time.
