Ugly Orange Donation Container at 20th and Depew

Early Sunday morning a plain white truck unloaded an orange clothing donation container next to the recycling bins at 20th and Depew. It says the donations go to some program for former convicts trying to reintegrate into society or something.
Aside from the concern that people will recycle in this bin without reading the signs on it, I am wondering if they got permission to place the container next to our recycling area.
I don't know who to ask, the Ice Ranch people or the City. Anyone know anything about this?
you could call

Call the city office and they will most likely direct you to the proper contact.

City Contacted

Yep, I did that. Thought I'd alert the community not to recycle in the orange bin.

While we're on the topic, don't forget that yard waste and branches can NOT go in the recycling bins either.

Not true.  I see branches in there all the time.

Just because they are in there does not mean the are supposed to be!

Just like over at the elementry school.  If we contiue to mis use the bins they will be removed.
Every little bit helps

The bins are serviced by Waste Management.  Here is a link that gives some general guidelines about what they process in their recycling facility and what they can not.  This facility does not do yard waste.

Damn!  Folks is throwing away sticks?  You gotta recycle them twigs and here's how.
First you need a big copper kettle with a coiled copper tube coming outta the top.
Next you get yourself some corn and mash it all up then you call Uncle Jack and ask him to give you some starter to mix in.  Let it stew a few days till its all gross lookin.
Pour the mash into the kettle and seal her up.  Put a glass jar under the business end of the copper tube.
Now you place all them sticks under the kettle and pour some gas on em and light em up.  Now your recycling, hell yes!  Wait a bit and you get jar full of ethanol.  That ethonal can replace the gas you used to set the twigs afire or you can put it in your jalopy or you can keep it all to yourself.
Try it out!  You'll be green before ya know it.  Hell yes!  Just watch out for them damn revenuers and ATF folks.  They ain't very enviromentaly minded like us common folk.

why woud u care if a donation dumpster is orange or white.  All of them are positioned out of normal line of sight.  Do u have something against us former convicts? Should i be thinking of a more non discriminant place to live?

Ugly Orange Donation Container at 20th and Depew

Why do I care? Because I get to see ALL of the glorious beauty of the parking lot ALL of the time, I was coming out for the Sunday morning paper, trying to enjoy the spring morning when I watched them dump the ugly orange bin next to the white recycling bins. The white ones next to the trees I can live with, it's recycling after all, but the ugly ORANGE one is just one more junky, unpleasant visual. How would you like it if I left an ugly orange bin across the street from your house so you could see it every time you went out your front door? It doesn't take a lot of empathy to understand this and I am always shocked at how little empathy I encounter.
You placed it out of the line of sight of 20th maybe but there are real people living on the west side of Depew who can see it just fine. What are we, chopped liver?
As for your particular charity to help convicts, no, I have no problem with it at all. I'm just asking for a little neighborly consideration. If you have received permission to put it there then so be it but to dump it off in the early morning thinking it won't hurt anything? Not quite. I'm trying to live here.
Live and Let Live

Oh, I empathize.  You should see the ugly car parked across the street from my house.  Been there for years, even has rotten eggs on it.  I’m just saying, that if it were on MY property I could do something, but its not.  That is not lack of empathy, its just the way it is.

The problem isn’t the orange bin.  The problem is the ugly parking lot.  And that’s something everyone can empathize with.

I live on Depew St.  I have a black couple on one side and a Hispanic couple on the other.  We live in diverse times and co-exist.  Live with it or ask to be re-located.
