THE 3rd DEBATE, 4 WEEKS TO GO, NOW WHAT THINKETH THE TS'ERS?

What an impressive man. Obama has my complete confidence. He has a real plan. I hope you were all open enough to hear it and feel inspired by his courage and insight.
scared

I have an open mind but I still do not see it.  I did not see anything to change my mind for either of them .  I received my ballot today and I think I am going to do more research into the alternate candidates as I have zero confidence in the ones that you all  are touting.
Patriot

So let me get Obama straight.  He is going to pull out of Iraq in defeat saving 10 Billion dollars, insert those same troops into Afgahnistan at no cost and invade a nuclear power, Pakistan.  Negotiate with Iran (N. Korea and Venezuala as well), send aid to all of Africa, give health insurance to all at little or no investment on the recipients part.  Tax the hell out of the wealthy (anybody grossing over $250,000 who create jobs including MOST small businesses) to pay for more bad loans so people who don't have jobs can purchase a house from a bank that doesn't have money to lend because the bank grosses over $250,000 a year.  Now he is going to do this by taking a surgical scalple to the massive National Budget and get Congress to go along with him every step of the way.
I cannot wait to see this man walk on water.  What's next?  Raising the dead?  Who wouldn't like to see a loved one brought back to life?
Then there is the reality.  Economic hard times, a very real threat of a nuclear attack on American soil, a deapining health care crisis, job creation, a failing educational system and the epic errosion of our very infrastructure.
We don't need a rock star, we need a leader and a patriot.  I do not disagree with Guest 13 but, what are the odds.
Scared too

Last night's debate

I'm watching our retirement savings go down the drain, I'm scared too. Very scared. I feel like this administration and their corporate cronies are taking all that's left of the money on their way out the door (or had taken it already, we are only learning about it now).
I scared and I'm mad as hell.
When the Dems were in office they balanced the budget and the dollar was strong. We had good relationships with the rest of the world. Now look at us. What a disaster.

McCain will pull us into a war with Iran. I believe that is his intention. Terrifying.

Not once last night did McCain mention the middle class. Not once. He wants to give a tax break to "everyone" that means his rich friends. He keeps using the phrase "my friends" - he is no friend of mine. He's a doddering old fool who says he knows how to "fix" things but never tells us how he is going to do it. As such, he scares me too.

Obama may be young but he's bright, on top of his game with many seasoned advisors behind him. He's seems to genuinely care about what happens to us. His solutions seem to be solid and well thought out and because of that I tend to trust him.

The president is only one man. He needs to be able to inspire others to action. Obama can do that. McCain can barely walk across the stage without shuffling.
God help us, if Obama doesn't win.

God help us if Obama wins with all of his out of touch dreams and you will still end up in a war with Iran and possibly Pakistan to boot.  I would rather have a President who calls me friend instead of one that want's to start class wars.  He starts to tax the upper class and they will move their money and jobs elsewhere.  They have shown that.
The Harlander

I was not impressed with the moderator or either of the candidates.  It was a wash.  McCain is loosing ground but the spread is still tight.  Niether candidate is showing substance in light of current events.  These debates should be passionate and devisive.  I don't know about you but I'm mad as heck and these two guys act like every thing is hunky-dorey.  It's not and I want real answers to real questions.  Questions like.  What's wrong with the economy?  How did the economy get where it is and can we afford to fix it?  Can you give me a specific energy plan for the next ten years?  How do you intend to fund your healthcare plan?  Is it now possible to leave Iraq without destabilizing the Middle East?  Do you feel the Constitution is applicable to America in the 21st Century?
But that's just me.  I'm waiting for the Mothership to come out from behind the Moon and take me away to Urantia where life is good.

Now Harlander, don’t let this go to your head, but ...

THANK GOD! Finally an intelligent post.

How many seats are available on that Mothership anyway?
The Harlander

Only 1,237,143.  You must be a human/alien hybrid to qualify.  If your parent did not have a close encounter of the third kind you are out of luck.  The ship leaves on December 19, 2012, so you are going to have to go through at least one more Presidential campaign.  To protect yourself from political taint and keep your mind pure in preperation for the journey you should make a 3 sided pyramid out of aluminum foil and wooden dowels (wooden arrows work just as well and are now cheaper).  Hang the pyramid over the head of your bed and recite the following words 7 times before retiring every night.  "Plibz druve gauqe rounx sfaks".
I know it sounds crazy but could it be anymore crazy than (insert your own political gaffe here)?

Thanks.  I’ll have to check into the hybrid part but I’ll get started on the pyramid right away.

Given the time to answer each question is only about 2 minutes, what would you expect to hear? In depth answers? No way to go into too much detail, it would  take too much time. That is why it is critical for each of us to go do our research for actual plans. I feel Obama is the man to lead this our country back to greatness.  Without any doubt, without any fear.
Wondering

Then why have debates?
OBAMA FAN

WE HAVE THE DEBATES SO WE CAN SEE THE CANDIATES IN A FAIRLY HONEST DISPLAY. WE HAVE DEBATES SO WE CAN LISTEN TO AN ABBREVIATED FORMAT OF THE CANDIDATES POLICIES, OPINIONS, ABILITY TO THINK QUICKLY, ABILITY TO CONNECT WITH THE PEOPLE, SEE HOW WE REACT TO THEM ON A GUT LEVEL. RATHER LIKE SEEING PREVIEWS OF A MOVIE. IT DOES NOT TAKE A HUGE AMOUNT OF WATCHING TO GET A REAL FEEL FOR THE CANDIATES. THE REST IS DONE BY RESEARCHING, READING, ETC.
SORRY FOR THE CAPS--I AM NOT YELLING JUST IN A HURRY AND DON'T WANT TO RETYPE THIS

'cause it lets people think researching the candidates is as easy as watching TV.  its the most effort many people put into the their election homework.  better than nothing.

answering the hard questions

Harlander, reading your post earlier today I almost felt compelled to line up your questions one by one and, like homework and answer them one by one from the information I know to be on Obama's site.
Then I thought, well, I could do that but I have all this other work to do, and I know Harlander knows how to study. He is smart enough to know a debate - no, not even a debate - but a town hall meeting isn't the sort of forum that will give him the substance he seeks.
Am I right, Harlander?
The Harlander

Written well laid out policies are useful as is historical research but the written narative could be the work of someone else and the historical record is often not as clear as one would think.  The debate, town hall meeting, interviews and public appearances serve a purpose as Obama Fan has so well exemplified.  One thing I have learned about politics, the clear choice for one may not be the clear choice for another.
