Our New City ManagerFact is, I didn't catch the spelling of his name. I know our City Council thinks he's the best guy (which is, why they chose him, right?). He comes from Grand Junction and apparently he has a sense of humor. What's not to like?
Maybe someone else can fill in the details.
Best wishes to Council President Cooke, BTW, it's been an interesting ride. Thanks for the memories...

NEW CITY MANAGERI think the name is Harold Stouf....(sp?)
Doesn't like Harold, likes HJ according to the Cookie Monster, and has a good sense of humor, according to Councilwoman Jamie Mac. Haling from Grand Junction by way of Littleton or some such, but if Grand Junction's success in recent years is in some way due to him we can have some hope - I've been over there a number of times in recent years and witnessed some of their turn-around, and its been impressive. A big round of applause to the Council for putting in all the effort to winnow down a wide field and pick what they feel is the chestnut. I, for one, look forward to the Mayor sitting as President of a Council that works with a professional executive to move us towards financial stability and an Edgewater for another hundred years!!!!!
And a fond farewell to the Cookie Monster! No one wants to admit they need a lawyer, but the City Council did and he made them better, for the most part, by being the obnoxious SOB that only he can be. This Council IS a better body than it has been in years thanks to his Presidency, without the demagoguery of some former McPresidents who believed they intuited the needs and wishes of the citizens and tried to out-fox the citizenry. All hail to the professionalism and dedication of this Council who can debate their different positions and come to a consensus without waiting afterwards for some ability for revenge down the road when they "lose" a point.
I look forward to a professional manager, with the cooperation of a well-intentioned Council, led by our elected Mayor as President, leading us into the future in the spirit of transparent government that Council President Cooke has fostered.
Let the future begin!!

Way to go Council.Should a played my numbers. HL Stalf was my pick. Based only from the meet and greet. For those on the Charter Commission will attest, my undying belief of residency. For me it is comforting to here Arvada, Wheat Ridge and North Denver as places he has knowledge of. I think Edgewater has done well and will serve itself better to step aside and let this pro unleashed remember, we haven't had a horse like this. Quote Bill Parcells "If you want him to cook the dinner you might want to let him buy the groceries"
Mr. Cooke, kinda sorry to see you go, I'll miss the arrogance as a learning tool, and I will miss the amount of comedy not only that you applied but, had the potential for. Wishing you and your beautiful family the very best. Thank you for your service to the City. You should come back sometime (not soon) I'm sure we'll have a Museum that your noted in.
Thank you Council.....BIG thumbs up!
