The InaugurationWhat an amazing inauguration!!! I don't believe there have ever been that many people watching one in the past. It was truly breathtaking.
President Obama (sounds good, doesn't it?) has an incredibly hard job ahead of him. Do any of you recall a bigger mess left for an incoming president than this one?
I do think that he has the motivation and the heart and the smarts to do the best that can be done to turn this around. I am looking forward to the future in his hands.

Actually there have been Presidents that have faced far greater challenges than Obama. How about Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant and Rutherford B. Hayes as they dealt with the Age of Reconstruction which included an attempt to vest Black Americans with full citizenship. Franklin Roosevelt did not inherit a sound Nation from Herbert Hoover.
Obama has challenges to be sure but, not that unusual. I wish him well.

Strap yourself in?It is reassuring to hear we have survived more difficult times, Patriot. I know everyone I talk to says they are scared.
I am less scared today. It's a complicated world out there and I am so grateful this country has chosen someone with the intellect and values President Obama possesses to lead the way.
It is going to be an interesting ride!
