Hale for CouncilThough either Laura or Marty might make a good Council representative with time, the best choice under the circumstances is Leanna. We are in a transitional period and Hale has Council experience and also served as Chairperson of the Charter Convention. She knows what needs to be done and how to do it. It's that simple.

I agree, Hale is the wisest choice.

The charter commission is not the only thing on Edgewaters plate, and if council appoints someone based on only that, they would be in sore shape. Let her run and be elected - for a change.

So experience counts for nothing? It's a six month appointment, I'd go for experience every time and yes there is a lot on Councils plate and it has been painfuly apparent that Bronco Resolutions take priority over Charter implementation. We don't need greenwood we need gasoline. Besides if she want's to retain office she will have to run again in November.

If experience is the key they should pick the candidate that has been at all the meetings and experienced the decisions that have been made in the last year. That’s the experience that counts.

Short of an endorsement. I have to say, in the short term, experience has a lot going for it and I'm sure Charter implementation would be on her mind if not her platform. Regards to the other two candidates but if I were on Council Hale would be my short term choice.

There are a lot of things to consider about a candidate other than experience. And if you really want to throw 'experience' into the pot, I suggest you analyze the history that allowed her 'experience'. Take that and add her performance and I would say that you just might want to rethink your vote.

All things considered If I were on Council, I would still go Hale. If the appointment was under the 180 Day clause of the Charter I might consider another candidate.

I thought the 180 day vacancy went to the next higest vote getter. How could you consider someone else?

If that person chooses not to accept the appointment. Pretty simple stuff here, nothing is a forgone conclusion in love, war and politics.

ComplexityOr two people resign from Council, not probable but not impossible. Of course one could die and one resigns within 180 days. Then again one could die and one could be arrested for murder. That would be ugly if the two incidents were related.
Believe it or not this was all discussed by the Charter Commission.

Thank you to Marty and LeannaThanks to both of you for stepping up to volunteer for your community. You may not have been appointed this time but your concern for the community and you willingness to help was noticed and appreciated.
