Attempted robbery on Ames St.A renter at a small home between 24th and 25th and Ames St. and surprised 2 black and 2 Mexican males after work trying to break into his garage. When he approached them, 1 drew a knife. They jacked up windows on the home as well. The last renter moved because of this! (2 daytime invasions in 1 year!!!)
C'mon Edge P.D....why can't you patrol on foot, or unmarked, in alleys or something to combat this????????
2 in 1 year?????????
Go ahead, stick up for the P.D....until you are hit (or stabbed!!!!)
Or call the Mayor and make them serious about this!

I would suggest that you speak to the City Council......The City Council cut the Police budget by $100,000. So the Council is the group that needs to be addressed with this issue.
Thank you.
Bonnie McNulty, Mayor
City of Edgewater
303-233-6216
Mayor McNulty: I will be out of state.
PLEASE disseminate this to the members to address at Counsel.
Counsel should consider releasing emergency funds to meet the growing crimes head-on in Edgewater or other ways to deal with this.

How about the fact that theres two cops currently injured and out. When you operate on a shoe string budget with no resources in a run down building we don't own and another building not fit for habitiation they operate out of what do you expect. How about commending them for the three serial burglars they captured and charged in the past year.

The police department is so short handed they don't know how they will cover shifts. Don't bitch unless your willing to fix the problem. Cops have days off, vacation, injuries, how can you staff shifts when you only have two cops per shift as it is and only 1 in the morning and 1 after 0300 am.

wow!!!!!! Two whole robberies in a year? My mom lives in Aurora where they would be doing cartwheels in the street if they had a crime rate as puny as that. Give me a break concerned.
