I am alarmed about the number of sex offenders in our community. The Police Department has an unusually high number of sex assaults that they investigate. Please be aware and check your neighborhood.

| It looks much more concentrated to me around our town that say littleton. I don't think we can do anything about it. |

| I am also disturbed with all the school children. I'm glad mine are grown up. I hope the Chief has all the tools necessary to keep a lid on things. |

Stats show that when money is tight and there are tensions in the home, domestic violence, including sexual abuse, rises. Crime, in general, rises. Edgewater is a relatively lower income area than say, Littleton, so there may be more tension here. That doesn't mean there is more sexual abuse, it means there is more reported sexual abuse. Littleton is a community where it may be occurring with the same frequency but be unreported due to social mores.
Sexual abuse is the act. Sex offenders, those who have already been adjudicated and found guilty of some form of sexual abuse moving to or living in the community is a separate issue.
